I Propose A Game
strictly for fun.
Last night I made my annual pilgrimage to CVS (actually since I hit 50 years old it's more like daily - LOL) and purchased my copy of the SI Swimsuit Issue. :barb Of course, I do this strictly for the articles. :wink
In reality, I do use the Swimsuit Issue as pose examples for my summer models. As I was perusing (quite slowly) the issue, my GID (Grin Induced Dementia) kicked in and I started looking to see what would get noted on this board. SOOO for those of you who care to join in, I propose that we do a Grin critique on images from the magazine.
I'll start. On the Table of Contents page there is an inset of a model which has the following "deficits"
1) an elbow pointed toward the camera
2) BOTH armpits in full view
3) Not enough body angle, somewhat flat to the camera
4) Shadows on her torso from the fringing on her bikini top are very distracting
5) right hand is "amputated" behind her head.
Don't get me wrong, I think the image of this gorgeous woman (Emily DiDonato) is....well....gorgeous and I doubt that photographer Yu Tsai is too concerned about my critique BUT, just in case he shows up here, I think we should help him out.:rofl

The image you are referring to is bad. It makes her look chunky and she is lost overall when looking at it due to the bkg. ( check out the size of her left hip---hind quarters come to mind).

That said you need to put your camera down and try to rejoin the race of men, (not man, of men).
If all you can see is some photographic or posing flaws when looking at these images, I believe you have lost something very precious.
I hope you find your way back.
Sam
Not to worry Sam. I'll spend all summer trying to reproduce some of these bad frames. In fact, I'll be in Bermuda in May trying with these 4 of my regulars:
