Keyword Search Not Working - Screenshots Included

I did my best to search for an answer but I still cannot locate the source of my problem.
I have a running race gallery (currently set to private so that the runners cannot access it yet) in which I have the search function set to "current location". When logged in, the search works just fine, but when logged out (with the gallery set to public) the keywords do not work.
In my account settings, both Google Search Visibility and Smugmug Search Visibility are set to YES.
In my gallery settings, Web/Smug Searchable are set to 'Site Setting' and external embedding is set to ON.
When I make the gallery public and search for a race number, 0 results come up.
For the life of me I cannot figure out what I am doing incorrectly. I would truly appreciate any help on this as I am at a loss. :dunno

All those numbers come from allowing Smug to extract from your file names.

Comparing the keyword page when logged in and then logged out, I see that my race gallery keywords are not made public.
Do you know how to make these keywords public? I thought they were public after changing the settings above (in the screenshots).
There must be some fundamental thing I am not understanding.

It appears to have to press or for the search to happen. Clicking the 'Search' button does nothing (on several different browsers, logged in and logged out).
Hi LarryF, my search did end up working for that particular gallery, but it only worked after I turned off the ability for SM to automatically derive their own keywords. However, I did not realize the "Search" button itself was not functional! Thank you so much for telling me that - I never click the button, just hit the enter key so I didn't even notice.
So now the question is, why doesn't clicking the Search Button work? It seems like a code-related issue?
