Remove Standard Content Blocks

I am finding that the templates for the new design have navigation blocks that are not wide enough for my needs. Is there a way to widen them? Also, is there a way to remove the standard social content block?

Thanks Steven

    Since you haven't unveiled your new site, it's hard to say what's going on. On any block you add, and even the "standard" templates, you'll see an icon that looks like a triangle, called 'Dimensions'. You can remove the margins, usually it's set at 12px.

    You can move, and remove any block, including the Social block. I removed the standard logo, header and footer stuff. I also created my own Social block in my footer, so you can pretty much do anything.

    Thanks for the reply Mike. However, all I see when I hover over the block is the options wrench icon (which doesn't allow me to delete the block or change the dimensions). No triangle icon

    Ok. I see the triangle you are referring to on some of the other content blocks (the ones that outline in blue when hovered over). However, I do not see this option on the navigation or social content blocks on my homepage (these outline in red when hovered over)

    Hey getnoutside, it sounds like the content blocks on your homepage are on the "Entire site" bit (that is what happens for me) - on the top of the customisation bar, click on Entire Site, then you should see the triangle on the content blocks :)

    Hi, this is as close as I can get to my problem so hopefully this makes sense - I created a page to share images from a weaving group http://colleenmiller.smugmug.com/Colleens-Photos/Craft/The-Loom-Room/The-Loom-Room. I would like to remove the navigation/menu from this page. Can anyone help? Thanks Colleen

    Try this in just this page CSS. As site owner it shows for you logged in but not for visitors.

    .sm-page-node-XVZ2W .sm-page-widget-nav-vertical {visibility: hidden;}
    .sm-user-owner .sm-page-node-XVZ2W .sm-page-widget-nav-vertical {visibility: visible;}
