MIGRATION AGRAVATION: It's Just how it is: Is there a BOOK I can buy for Dummies.

Provided I had a decent site to begin with the Migration would have been a snap.

I now see all the crap and html code crap painfully brought to my notice I added that when I migrated is even worse looking crap.

I have so many galleries and I have unlisted thinking it will make things easier to wade through this rebuilding.

SO, What I guess I have to do is CREATE every page a new and then just use the galleries or images somehow to populate new galleries for the new site without all the excess yappity yap content.

Dammit. I am NOT a marketing genius or a freakin Website designer. I actually hate doing all this again anymore after the last 3 years of coasting using the website for fullfilling orders form photoshoots.

It is really all I used it for, but now that I want to scare up more business, my local area needs to see this crappy effort of a website(s) I am working on in the litter box , I mean the sand box.....

Is there a question in my future?

So to begin anew, I should just create NEW pages the way I am guessing they should look?

But, all the old galleries are there-I don't need to show any of them, just a few galleries with representative work.

Proof Galleries for clients should ALWAYS be hidden with a special link just for them.....

I don't even know if EVENT favorites and packages and all that stuff is still available in the NEW SMUG MUG.

Gee did my pricing and packages make the migration? have no idea where to find that...

OH and GOD help me if I accidentally hit PUBLISH NEW SMUGMUG since the *&%&^%^&* button is exactly right next to the VIEW LEGACY SMUGMUG. [ can you imagine publishing this website when it isn't ready for prime time?] SHOOT ME NOW....

WHERE ARE THE ACCOUNT SETTINGS IN THE SANDBOX OR DO I HAVE TO GO BACK TO LEGACY TO DO ANYTHING-Whooops forget that.....I can't access anything in account setting in Legacy anymore anyway cuz it won't let me enter my password although I log in just fine. [barf]

The Organize button has me reeling.....[barf]

( I am sorry, this is more of a whinny rant than anything. I just didn't want to jump down into this stinky hole again and futz around with my website like I am for hours and hours and hours:huh.)

You can't accidentally publish (make live) your new Smugmug. You will be asked to type in a word (can't remember what), but like I said, when you are ready to go live with your new SM, you will have to do more than just push a button.

Your account settings are probably found by clicking your avatar in the top right (if I understand you correctly).

I believe SmugMug have created a range of migration tutorials:

You might barf at "Organizer" now, but, believe me, when you need to rearrange your gallery structure you will love it. Basically a Windows Explorer for you website.
New stuff is always daunting. Once you get familiar with the structure of New Smug, you will find it MUCH easier.
