Faster way to Watermark/ Un-Mark

I see that in the properties for a whole gallery or multiple galleries there is an option to turn watermarking on and off, or to manage the watermark. It seems only to work for new images that I put into the galleries. For the photos that are already inside each gallery they remain unchanged and I have had to open the gallery up. From there I can select all photos and add, change or remove the watermark, but I have to do it one gallery at a time.
As I am on the fence as to whether I want to keep the watermarks in my design this has caused me a good deal of wasted work when I changed my mind. You all have been a great help in the past. Is there any trick to getting this to change on the existing images in multiple galleries at once?

You cannot change the watermark for existing images in multiple galleries at once, sorry. You can only change the watermark in a certain gallery at once in the Organizer. If you go to the Organizer, select the gallery and click on the wrench icon, you'll see the option "Watermarks". Just click on that, select the watermark > add > select all > watermark. Please have a look at the screenshots:

Please read more about the watermarking feature on the following help page: http://school.smugmug.com/SmugMug-Tips/Encyclopedia-of-the-Watermark
I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thanks - my bad. I was able to select all the galleries within a folder and in settings there was an entry to turn on/off watermarks. I didn't actually make the change as I didn't want to change MY settings.
Can you shed some light on what that setting will do then?

As to the watermarking thing I was afraid that was the case. I guess I'll need to permanently make-up my mind about the watermarks before I apply changes again.
Changing watermarks for already uploaded photos must be done in the organizer. I changed the watermarks on my entire site late last year. While it is tedious to run through the galleries one at a time I found the process went quite quickly. But - you're right that it's a good idea to wait until you've decided on the final look before jumping in to change your existing watermarked photos.
