Help with e-mail subscriptions--FeedBurner??

I have my "new" SmugMug site set up.
And I hired a firm to design a compatible WordPress blog that matches it.
They set up my blog with an e-mail subscription widget using FeedBurner. The only problem I have with that is that the e-mail that gets sent out is the WordPress "page" rather than a link to the page. I'd prefer a link as that will support traffic to my blog and my SmugMug site...hopefully. And the e-mail message doesn't carry over the hyperlinks and formatting on my WP site.
Does anyone know how to configure FeedBurner so that it only sends out a link to a page rather than a copy of the page.
Or, are there any suggestions for other plug-ins or widgets that will work effectively? (Constant Contact or Mail Chimp, for example) Or are there any suggested or recommended forums where I can get help with this?
Thanks much!
Steve

I know nothing about this stuff! But, apparently from reading the link you sent, I surmise that feedburner is no longer supported or active, so to speak.
So, your suggestion would replace that....I'm assuming?
And, if so, does it allow for customizing what is contained in the feed so I won't have the issue of the entire "page" being sent in an e-mail? So I could replace it with a link to the page?
In other words, how does your e-mail appear to the recipients?
And, were you able to migrate your feedburner subscribers over to this replacement?
Thanks so much for your prompt reply! Appreciated.

I subscribed to my sandbox site. I created a new post, and I'm now waiting to see what the e-mail contains. I'll let you know.

I'm shopping, too.
Thanks for getting back to me about this.
I'll let you know if I come up with anything interesting.

I did get an e-mail notification an hour ago. I forgot that I didn't add mt testing site to Feedburner. After doing that, made a new post, I got it. I can send you the e-mail if you PM me.
Feedburner is still working, I tested that last night. The issue is (I think) is that Feedburner may go away at any time. If you don't have a back-up plan, all of your subscribers will be lost.
Right now, I like the FV Feedburner plugin. I especially like the form it creates: http://www.imagesinthebackcountry.com/subscribe/. I also created a widget on my blog sidebar. I can send you the code if you're interested.

I'm hoping there is some notice prior to end-of-life; in the meantime I'm keeping my eye out for a replacement.

I read this last night: http://dashburst.com/google-feedburner-shutdown-risk/
I haven't implemented it 100%, but created a subdomain for using my feed last night. Still not 100% sure I understand it all though.

This is all so foreign to me! Once we get past the basics, I'm lost.....
All I want to do is have it so that people can subscribe to my blog to follow when I post updates. Feedburner did that for the short time I used it. But I didn't like the format of the e-mail that was sent (text instead of a link, and it didn't include any formatting or workable links in the text). So, now I have Jetpack installed and I'd like to try it. But, I can't figure out how to migrate the subscribers I have (from Feedburner) over to Jetpack.
Very frustrating.
I have written to the person who set up my blog and to Jetpack. Waiting to hear back.
What do you mean by "created a subdomain for using my feed?"
(I've spent more time on this aspect of my setup than I did designing my SmugMug site! Aaargh....)
Thanks.

I did this yesterday: http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mybrand
My "old" Feedburner was 'feeds.feedburner.com/imagesinthebackcountry'. Now it points to this: 'feeds/imagesinthebackcountry.com/imagesinthebackcountry'.
I removed the FV Feedburner plugin and started using Jetpack too. Curious to see what they say too.

I've sent messages to previous subscribers indicating that there was a new plug in and I asked them to re-register. Almost all did so...though I only had 40!
Haven't made a blog posting this week, but it seems straightforward.
And there are plenty of "tools" included with the plug-in. I don't understand what most of them do, though! haha
I'll keep you posted....
One more thing--they respond promptly to e-mail support issues! Impressive.

check out my site www.nosigram.com. I solved the subsribe problem (ie. without RSS).
1. Sign-up for free MailChimp account and create a mailing list.
2. Create 3 MailChimp campaigns (daily, weekly, monthly). NOTE: the Lastname field will be used to store the Wufoo subscribe option (daily, weekly, monthly). You can set a segment up with the condition Lastname is weekly that will filter the list for just those subscribers who signed up for weekly for example.
3. Sign-up for free Wufoo account and create a simple subscribe form (with radio buttons for daily, weekly, and monthly). When you get to the Notifications section click Integration->MailChimp to setup 2-way data sharing between Wufoo and MailChimp. NOTE: The Lastname must be mapped to the notification option (ie. daily, weekly, monthly).
4. In SmugMug Create a New Page. Add Content->Services->Wufoo Form. You will need to enter the URL to your Wufoo form you created in step 3 (find this by viewing your Wufoo form and copy-and-past the URL from the address bar).
5. In SmugMug Create a Navigation Menu Item 'Subscribe' and link to the Subscribe page created in step 4.
That's it! Now once a user subsribes wufoo will send their information directly to MailChimp and once a day/week/month you can run the MailChimp campaign to alert users of updates.
Let me know how it works!!
