I like the subject, and the idea of the still-life AnnaMaria...
But (there's always a *but* huh?) - imo - the composition and lighting could be better.
With this subject, I understand the softening, but to me, it seems washed-out and #1 looks over-exposed.
In #2 the shadow on the subject is probably a good start for in-direct lighting, but the sunny corners + white vignette don't work well.
Also, a look around, might find a background that complements the subject better...

thanks Eric - I agree with much of your comment. My computer crashed and didn't have a way to get card to read. Desperate for photos I played with the iPad and post processed it with in it. It looks much nicer on the iPad.... my niece wanted a washed, pastel generated finish for her eggs.
