New here... help with keywords?

Im new to new smugmug....and not very tech savvy, so please forgive me. I've done some searching and see lots of people with keyword issues, but cant find the answer to my question. So, if i need to look somewhere else, please let me know!
On my homepage i have a collage, it is supposed to select images with one specific keyword. When i set this up yesterday, i went to nearly 40 images and gave them the keyword FAV. They all showed up on my homepage and it looked great. Now when i look at it, only like 12 images show. I went to the missing photos and the keyword is still there. The galleries are not password protected, all set to public. And this happens both when im logged in and logged out. Also, when i look at they keyword search, only the 12 show up.
Please tell me what Im doing wrong? Blonde moment maybe?
