1st unofficial wedding … kinda!
I got to shoot my cousins wedding in Florida for fun considering he had already hired a actual wedding photographer in that area. My cousin is from CT and I am from MA. He has been asking me to shoot this wedding and I could not bring myself to do it… weddings shake me up, salute to all you who shoot them. Long story short we where out there for a week prior in some of the most beautifulest weather imaginable. Day of the wedding it began to rain… scratching his beach planned ceremony. The ceremony was moved indoors to an available function room. My cousin had already given the hired photographer a heads up i'll be snapping pics so if any problems just walk up and talk to me. He was a cool guy who actually communicated w/ me seeing I know all the family members and we worked hand and hand. Although considering it was a open bar I was there to have fun. Pretty cool to actually get somewhat of a feel with out the stress.
For the preps I shot the bride prior to the hire arriving and then returning after he left her room. The groom and his boys where limited considering the tux place screwed up on a few suites. They actually delivered the missing items @ the ceremony venue… talk about close call. For the ceremony I had not yet communicated w/ the hire so I stayed in the back to avoid his groove. Once we settled in the main venue for the party we introduced each other and shot from there. Weddings are serious business and this particular one wasn't as big as some I have attended. I ended up w/ close to 800 shots, trimmed down to about 175 edits to send him on disk to have. Feel free to C&C as Im always interested in hearing others opinions. Would like to hear some of y'all first time experiences and how you handled it also.
Thanks.

For #8 and #9--that car antenna is VERY distracting. I would clone that out--especially from #9 as it looks like it is growing out of a bridesmaid's head. Otherwise, you did good. I love #5.

Thank you. My role may have helped... I was almost catching moments w/out worrying about catching the shots I guess. As mentioned it was my first time shooting a wedding and my first time shooting @ a venue in that type of light condition constantly changing. Took it as a learning process.
Good catch, I didnt even notice and now that you mentioned it bothers me! lol. I havent delivered them yet so I will edit that as sson as I get home. To be honest I usually post in the "People" forum so I was a bit nervous posting in the "Wedding" forum. Theres so much talent here so I figured I swim w/ the sharks and see what happens... Can't improve w/out C&C.
