Hi, Just returned from another trip to Tasmania. This is a shot of Roaring Beach at Surveyors Bay at the mouth of the Huon River. Very lucky with the weather - I would imagine it would be very different when the winter southerlies are blowing.

Thanks for looking - C&C always appreciated.

Sweet shot Richard... fore, mid, and background all work together nicely... interesting textures and colors.
    Postcard/brochure/publication worthy for sure.

Mighty fine work, Richard. Some of the best pictures I've seen of your part of the world happen to come from your camera. Don't be such a stranger....let's see more of what you have.

    Take care,

    Tom
I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

    Beach?
That's a good shot. I like your perspective and viewpoint.

It's not much of a beach, though :-)

Hi Eric, thank you very much for your feedback and suggestions. I will send it on to the Tasmanian Tourism office and see if they would like to use it.

Hi Tom, really appreciate your support and feedback. I am still going through my shots so I am sure there will be one or two more to show.

Hi, Your comment got me thinking headscratch.gif You are right, it isn't much of a beach (which is off to the left out of sight) - and so why would it be called Roaring Beach? The beach is made up entirely of large rounded rocks / pebbles - and when the gentle waves run up the beach (like on this day) the backwash makes a 'whoosing' sound and the smalls pebbles 'clink' against each other - so when a big sea is running - I expect it is more of a roar. Just an idea!

    Cheers, Richard.
