SmugMug and Vimeo users?

I recently found a tip on how to seamlessly integrate Vimeo videos in my Smugmug galleries - awesome. Should out to Sebastian! http://www.sebsgarage.com/2014/02/seamless-vimeo-movies-in-your-smugmug-site
I wanted to ask though for best practices? Do you upload all your video files from an event (whether it has photos or not) and then use the video player through Smugmug? Or share through Vimeo but still upload the original file to Smugmug but hide it, essentially then just using Smugmug to store the file?
I have a bunch of videos that are longer than Smugmug's limits, so that's an obvious answer, but it's the videos that would fit on Smugmug that I'm struggling with. I don't want to do redundant work, but Vimeo has more outlets to play the videos.
(Lastly, would you put video in the gallery with the photos? Or a separate gallery?)
Thanks for your thoughts!
