In past I have lost some shots because I missed the foreground weeds or branches, looking through my telephoto but they shows up as blur, as here in in #2. Now if you have more of these and more solid ones, then it could be an artsy wildlife abstract. Not sure if such a case can be made with single weed. Or maybe I am not seeing it right.....bit dizzy. Cheers.

    Well done.

Egrets are difficult to get without blowing out the body feathers

    You did good on #2

    Nice work

If the purpose of leaving a foreground element blur was to bring out details in portion of the egret, while rest of it is blown, then mission accomplished. Don't think that was intended so gave best input as in my own experience, never learned anything from praise. Cheers!

I appreciate all feed back but not following foreground weeds. There is none other then reflection from the weeds from background next to the Egret. My eyes are not what they use to be so it is possible i am missing something but I just don't see weeds in the foreground and from where I was standing was open if I recall.

I prefer the composition and subject pose in the first shot, but the background is way too busy (for my taste) in both shots.
Maybe it's because I'm viewing on a tablet, but I also can't make out what's happening at the end of the bird's bill in the first shot - is it a bit of BG debris that just happens to be there - or is it something in its bill?
Either way, it's a distraction - to me - sorry.

Yes it's natures debris but this is what nature brings most of the time and its rear to get nature shots with out nature lol. I could have easily cloned it but I am a natural type and not much for photo shopping or heavy cropping. I take what I can get until a better one comes along. Thanks for the feed back, sorry you don't like it.

Sorry for rough edits....maybe its not foreground and I wasn't sure when I posted first, but whatever it is, is really bothersome to my eyes.....

No biggie though......rest of your work, especially regarding woodpeckers....is top notch!!!

I suspect others might not have commented, as the issue had already been raised - and therefore no need for something so obvious?
