I would love to see how #1 looks in b&w also. Not that as is is not great, it is pretty awesome as is, but just because of the glistening light and boar color, it might be something special in b&w.
Very nice. I like the lone Cormorant on the snag but It would be a nicer comp if the bird were looking into the frame instead of out. Not sure if you have room in the frame for that but if you do give it a try and get the bird over to the right of the frame and see how it looks. In late June I'll be visiting in PA and hope to do some shooting while there.
That's a good point, empty space looks better when it in front of the eyes and not at the back....but if movement is captured indicating leaving the frame, then that would work.
