I'd like to share another little guy. These guys were pretty cooperative the other day and came in very close. A bit overcast so the lighting was a little tough.

No catchlight on this one, but a nice pose.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Hi Troy,
Thanks for the comments and here's how I make those frames. Let me know if my instructions aren't clear.
    1. Lets assume were starting with a flattened background layer.
    2. Double click the background layer to make it into a layer we can modify. If it's not a locked background layer skip this step. This layers name will now be Layer 0.
    3. Create a layer below Layer 0. Short cut <ctrl+shift> + Create Layer button (on layer palette). This now becomes Layer 1.
    4. Enlarge the canvas size by Image...Canvas Size. Increase the size by 2.5%. Both Width and Height.
    5. Fill this layer with black.
    6. Create a another layer below the other 2 layers. <ctrl-shift>+Create Layer button (on layer palette). This will now be layer 2.
    7. Enlarge Canvas size again by 2.5% (same as step 4)
    8. Fill this layer (layer 2) with white.
    9. Now select Layer 1 (the one filled with black) on the layer palette.
    10. Add a Gaussian Blur- Filter...Blur....Gausian Blur - Change the pixel size to get the look you want. 10 Pixels is a good starting point.
    11. To add a White Edge on the bottom to add text to first select Layer 2 (the white one)increase the canvas size again - select Image...Canvas Size and add 10% to the Height, then click the middle, top button on the anchor box, the one pointed straight up.
    12. Fill layer 2 with white again.
    13. Add Text
    14. All done :D
I made this into an action so with one click its all done except for adding text.

Layer 1 (the one filled with black) can be filled with other colors, different layer styles etc to come up with a lot of different effects.

Please let me know if this is clear. I can add pictures if needed.

    Regards and Happy Holidays.
