Wednesday was the first round of conforence championship playoffs. Here in DC, heavy rains throughout the day, but brought the camera anyway. At the start of the game, there was actually a break and I thought it was all going to be good.

However, right about half time, the rain started again.

About 7 minutes into the second half, thunder along with a 2 hour delay waiting for lightening to leave the area. When play resumed, still plenty of standing water...

As well as fog...

Followed by more rain...

But the girls played tough!

Forecast for Championship tomorrow is sunny and 70's--about time!

Looks nasty, Will. Your kid plays for Catholic? I guess I got my wires crossed. I thought she was G'town.

    Nice Shots Will,
What did you use for camera cover, or were you in a shelter?
I am scheduled to shoot a Cancer Race for the Cure tomorrow thru downtown Kalamazoo
and the forecast is for cold and rain!

Unfortunately, I had neither. When it got really heavy, I just went up in the stands and stood under and umbrella with my wife. When the rain was light, I had put away the 300 and went with a 70-200 that I would keep inside my jacket until I was about ready to shoot something, and used a small towel to keep drying everything off. Yeah, not a good solution at all! Of course, about a week later, another game with similar conditions.

At least the rain cleared for the post-game tailgate!

I'm looking real hard at "Vortex Media Pro Storm Jackets." They are not too expensive and seem to get pretty decent reviews on places like B&H and Adorama...
