Spooky as a dickens fits them to a T. Did get lucky though when this family crossed in front of me on a back road. :thumb

This boar had to go over 200 lbs.

The sow was close to that

Nice captures. They do typically run off but if they feel threatened be sure you can get back to your vehicle quickly, that's if you got out of your vehicle to begin with. They can be mean.

Thanks Hunter for the info. Usually when I'm out on the back roads I'm not alone my 45 cal Sig Sauer is handy. I call it my "Critter Deterrent" Works for any pest I encounter. mwink.gif

In the early 1950s, we moved from Indianapolis to Coral Gables, Florida.
Things weren't so urban there at that time. My mother and I took the
dog for a walk in a woodsy area and the dog disturbed a boar sow.
The boar chased my mother and I for a few yards until we climbed
up a fallen tree that put us about 10' above the ground.

The dog barked and nipped at the boar for about ten minutes until
the boar trotted off. My mother and I stayed on the tree for another
ten minutes until we thought it was safe.

I couldn't find that location again after all these years, but I suspect
it's now the site of a shopping mall or an upscale housing subdivision.
