I like it. Would be better on starry night....so you get few more of them in. Even better would be to go there at dusk....so get texture, perhaps even few stars, left over sunset colors, as well as city lights....
Is this from some POV at Quimby road?:D
I can't find a place to park.....but have this shot in mind for a while...
Even told Joel (Kdog) who is pano expert.....can make this rock....
....assuming I am guess the correct spot. I drove there at dusk on a kind of stormy evening and almost drove off the road....as it was THAT gorgeous with stormy evening clouds on top and city light in bottom!

Thanks for the feed back! Will keep this in mind!
This was taken from a private ranch, and the conditions were not ideal. We plan of trying again when the weather, sky, etc are better.
The image seemed small here, so I clicked through to your gallery so I could give it a good look.
So, imo, the image is nicely exposed, but suffers for a few reasons...
The city seems very distant and the lights appear relatively small in the frame, with no strong point of interest... no architecture is visible.
The foreground is pretty oof, and because it is well-lit and much the same color tone as the city, competes for attention.
Looks like this city has mandated high and low pressure sodium lighting, with it's characteristic yellow-orange color - this creates
a rather mono-chromatic glow and, imo, is much less interesting than a multi-colored scene.
I agree with Taz that more interest in the sky could help the composition.
Figured you'd want an honest reaction - HTH... However, when I was in your galleries, I saw some awesome night work - good stuff!!

Thanks Eric,
Yes when I ask for critique I want your honest opinion. I am not asking for accolades. I wanted ask without any input from me. I think you and the bum have pretty much covered the image faults and I definite see what your saying.
I was nit thrilled with the results but needed some input as to why.
I do not take offense at negative opinions on my images images. Whiskey and good cry takes care of it.
Thanks for the comment on some of my other images as well.
My first reaction was, "cool!". But then again, you got some good input from Taz and Eric. Building on their comments, I'm wondering about going for a a pano, perhaps multi-row using a very long lens (like my 500 ) Probably forget the foreground entirely, unless there's something worthwhile there. Otherwise, I'd plan on focus-bracketing to get everything sharp. Just a thought. Great location!
