As the sun fades and darkness envelopes the forest strange sights can be seen,

What the heck am I looking at?

    Is this a tree limb?

I see two images; arms with fingers cut off and a snake head on the far side branch.

    Freaky cool!

    Wrong.....

I see Edward Demon hands....you can clearly see angry demon eyes, teeth, flaring nostrils, cheek, head neck...etc.

This was taken in the land of Smaug. If your not afraid of the dark now, I would ask why aren't you?

Be careful during those night photography outings. :D

I was on a night photo project on top of a hill overlooking San Jose, and the wind was somewhere between 30mph and 40mph. We were freezing so while waiting for night to fall we hiked down to a stand of trees that included a large oak that had crashed to the earth to get out of the wind.

As night encroached on the landscape and shadows mixed with the waning light I could hear strange noises and growls unlike anything I have ever heard before. headscratch.gif

As we hastily made our escape I took one quick photo. I don't know what it is but I'm not going back. :nono
