Godaddy & Smugmug Account

Hi folks, I was wandering if anyone might be able to help me with this question. I have my domain name with Godaddy. When I originally signed up I had chosen a particular hosting package. Now that I have a Smugmug account for my photography, and they allow their members to load unlimited photos and videos, my concern is, do I need to pay Godaddy to host my business? Or, can I cancel the hosting and just keep my domain name with them?

I'm wondering if I'm paying for something with Godaddy that I just don't need because of what Smugmug offers as part of their account features.

I would appreciate any help in clarifying this.

Smugmug is not a domain/hosting company. Smugmug is just a convenient place to store/sell you images online. All the domain is a your name on the web. The hosting is the "space on the web". Since you have Godaddy as both your domain and hosting, you still need to them.

If you don't have content other than your smugmug site you need only the domain from your registrar. Usually you get one email address with the domain - you should check that to make sure you don't need to purchase that separately.

I pay only for the domain, not for hosting. My web site is on smug and my blog is on blogger; I don't need additional hosting services.
