Weird search results

I often see weird Smugmug searches in my statcounter screen... usually inappropriate terms leading to our galleries that just don't make sense. For example, this is definitely NOT a keyword we have ANYWHERE on our site...

That doesn't mean the person reached your site through this search term. That's only the first term they entered in search and they may have changed or refined their search term, which isn't something that seems to be included in the referrer provided by Statcounter.

You can try this yourself going to:
http://www.smugmug.com/
and entering any search term, like wedding:
http://www.smugmug.com/search/?q=wedding&c=photos
if you now modify your search term to say wedding dress, the url in your browser changes to:
http://www.smugmug.com/search/?q=wedding&c=photos#q=wedding+dress
You see the new search term reflected at the end of the url:
#q=wedding+dress
That's the part that Statcounter doesn't seem to include in their referrer info.
