Help with mattes/framing software?

I'm currently using photoshop elements 3 and have been looking for a way to automate a printed matte surround to a photo - and i've find a couple of simple options, but...

I'm hoping someone is aware of a way to do this in elements 3 so that I can specify the external dimensions of the matte (so to print borderless) while still getting an equal all around matte border and fit the photo. Does that make any sense? Anyone have any ideas?

I use GIMP. It incorporates a border creating script that I use to add borders, choosing the color, size, etc that I want. Open source program so the price is right.

Have you searched the Adobe exchange site? Lots of free actions there. I found a nice one called "Photo Mattes by Karl S." Four different variations - worth a look!

Here is a link to Auto FX's Photographic edges software...a little pricey but a great software....I've played with the demos...haven't bought yet.
