We had the annual air show down at Jones Beach on Long Island over the Memorial Day holiday weekend. I spent most of my time at Republic Airport and the American Airpower Museum, where most of the show aircraft flew from.
1 - It was a cloudy, foggy morning when the Blue Angels arrived.
2 - I went down to the beach for Friday's practice. Low clouds cancelled most activities, but I did get to see a V-22 Osprey in person for the first time.
3 - Fat Albert flew over to check conditions for the Blue Angels. Unfortunately, low clouds cancelled their practice demonstration.
4 - B-17 Yankee Lady departs, as seen from the old airport control tower, now part of the museum.
5 - Blue Angels taxi out on Saturday afternoon for the show. And yes, they do call him Elmo.
6 - Skytyper 1 leads the team back to Republic Airport.
7 - Airplane Selfie
8 - P-51 Mustang Quick Silver
9 - The elusive full disk of prop blur!
10 - The crew of Yankee Lady took 10 WWII veterans for a flight on Monday. The gentleman on the right, in the red hat, is one of our museum volunteers, and comes out almost every weekend.

I've been real close to that P-51 ' Quick Silver '. I think it's the most beautiful P-51 I've ever seen.
See you buddy,
Tom

Me too, really like #1. With the approach lights in view it elicits a fun feeling from this pilot. Great job and nice set overall!
