    I think egrets are quite used to being around larger herbivores. They are called cattle egrets for a reason.

    In Africa, egrets and herons are frequently seen around Cape buffalo and elephants also. I always wonder how they keep from getting stepped on by the elephants as they walk right next the the elephants feet as they walk along....
