Milky Way Sierra, Clouds too

Took my first Milky Way photos in the Sierra Nevada last weekend, something I was looking forward to since I got a little obsessed with Milky Way several months back. Nothing quite worked out the way I imagined, but I ended up pleasantly surprised by the photos I ended up with anyhow.

I was hoping for a sunset too, but it never happened. I thought a few of the clouds we saw were pretty cool, though.

Only few days ago I mentioned to a friend about reflections of stars in a lake! You got them and then some! How fun it must be to know what you are doing and then just go and execute shots! Wonderful!

Thanks guys, much appreciated! Stumblebum, I was pretty surprised to see the Milky Way reflection show up. Looks like a 1 min exposure does the trick!

Excellent with the calm surface lake and Milky Way reflection
takes the image far above the bar!

Second one really gives that isolated frozen wonderland feel
with the sky, mountains and frozen lake. Nice.
