I cant believe that SM still hasnt FIXED this issue - esp when so many want it.

We USED to be able to have comments, either unanimously or they could enter their name maybe a link if i recall - but now we must force them to sign in using a sm account or facebook or other social media???? I also cold set it up so *I* dictated if the post got posted or not, whats the problem with that???

Did I wake up in Russia or something? I thought *I* should get the say as to what happens with the site *IM* paying for.

Why is this feature not been fixed yet people? Why does SM not give us paying customers what we want/had???

This is the sort of thing that really makes me want to take my business elsewhere

Hi DJ, there is already an ongoing thread on this topic. If we have any updates to add we will do so in that thread. Thanks :)

ya and NO COMMENTS FROM SMUGMUG IN THE PAST 6 DAYS THERE EITHER.

Seriously, give your PAYING customers what THEY want.

In stead of ignoring us, how about actually saying something productive instead comments like " If we have any updates to add we will do so in that thread." which is total bs, TALK TO US. I have yet to hear from smugmug on this issue

Hi DJ, I'm sorry but we do not have any plans to allow for anonymous comments.

    From the thread... http://dgrin.com/showpost.php?p=1942385&postcount=142

I'm sorry we don't have a different answer for you.

Even Facebook posted a warning on one of their pages to never log in to their site on another sites page. The other
site can pop up anything that looks real and steal your log in.

Thanks Zac for your honest answer.

If pedophiles are leaving vile comments in public SM sites, then this may be an issue and I understand the decision.
However, my site is a password-protected site. Paedophiles are not able to login to my site without a password.

I'd appreciate it if you could explain to me why my password-protected site can't allow old-style, simple comments?

I think this could be solved for everyone.
Turn off comments on every site.

On first log in pop up message stating comments have been turned off.
Go to your gallery settings and select how you want them to work.

o Allow anonymous comments. (warning box)
o Allow comments only after logging into Smugmug, Facebook, or other.
o Allow anonymous comments only for galleries with a password.
    o Turn on comment approval.

    A much easier approach...

Allow the paying customer to moderate the comments on his/her site.
