Quirky and interesting Cristóbal - makes me wonder about the location.
What do you think about cropping some (1/2?) of the neg space at the top?

HI Eric, long time... I tried your idea and didn't like it (I used your tried and true method of scrolling or covering with a piece of paper). I kind of like the idea of a square within a square within a square.

The shot was taken in China four years ago, I just rediscovered it.

I keep coming back to this one. Something about the negative space is not working for me, but I'm having difficulty understanding why, exactly. Seems disjointed, maybe. I tried two different square crops--one eliminating the slit on the left, the other eliminating the shaft of light on the wall and ground on the right--and I liked both of those compositions better. But part of the coolness of the shot is having the slit and the light, so it seems a pity to waste that connection. I wonder what it would look like if you could open up the shadows a bit so we could see more of the interior space. It might make for a more coherent composition. ne_nau.gif

    Thanks for the comment Richard.

Here is one with shadows open. I think I like it better.

These are two crops, but as you say I think the point is to keep both brighter areas in.

And, I now completely agree with your crop choice - looks great!
