Want to shoot the milky way in South Florida/Miami area! Where to go??? The keys?

Hi!

I would like to shoot the milky way in South Florida (Miami, Fort Lauderdale)!

The question: Where should I go so am away from light pollution and I can take a picture of the milky way and the stars?

I have checked darksite finder.

Also people recommend the everglades off of 75 The problem is that it is still not too dark, and with the level of humidity normally present refracted light.

Others recommended Florida keys.

Do you know a location you can recommend? I don't have time and $ to go to Arizona! LOL

You might be able to cut down on travel distance by heading to the coast and shooting toward the sea. This way the worst part of the light pollution will be behind you, but choosing a location where there is as little lighting nearby as possible will improve matters. Check a star chart to see what time of night the milkyway will be positioned over the sea.
