Turn off specific sharing options?

In my SmugMug galleries, I would like to allow only one type of sharing -- Get a link. (I don't want my photos shared on Facebook, Twitter, emails, etc.) Is there a way to allow just "get a link" but not the other sharing options for my gallery photos? I asked SmugMug support about this and they suggested I post my question here to see if anyone had customization code for this.

Check in gallery settings for options to control sharing. I'm not able to look myself at the moment but there may be something... "social icons" you can turn off.

However, that said, you can't prevent anyone from sharing a link on Facebook or twitter. Viewer only has to copy the URL in the browser window. If they do this when viewing a photo in either a gallery, or in lightbox mode, the link will code correctly for both. If they aren't looking at a specific photo, only a gallery or folder, the URL will not contain the numbers for a specific image, but will still post the link to the gallery or folder.

There is nothing in Gallery Settings that allows you to make some sharing options available but not others -- it's all or nothing. SmugMug Help Desk confirmed that there is currently no way to do this, which is why they referred me to this forum in the hopes that someone might have developed some custom code that would allow it. Also, as for your other comment, you apparently misunderstood what I was wanting. I do NOT want to prevent people from sharing a LINK on Facebook or Twitter -- I just don't want them to post my actual photo on Facebook or Twitter. Guess I will just have to disallow all sharing options.

Hmm, I think posting the URL that has a photo, including in lightbox mode, will post the pic on FB. I don't use twitter so I can't speak to it, but I think I post to FB and use this method, and the photo comes up. Maybe test the variations?

You may be right. I was thinking that sharing a photo on FB meant sharing it without a link. I will test it and see. Thanks.

There is a way to share a photo without linking/exposing your website.
But you have to construct the link.

Denise I thought the problem was sharing a gallery link without also sharing the photo.
Oh - when I typed that I realized there is one way I have used on FB:
Copy the link location. Once the image populates in the FB message field, you can click to remove the thumbnail or image. It reverts what you publish to only the URL HTML.
