Mother-Son Beach Shoot After Sunset
This was another experiment, kind of like a concept car experiment. Some of these I like some I don't know how I feel. Good thing about having model friends who have kids, they are up for experimenting. All were shot with a D3s, 50 mm 1.8 and one, sometimes 2 off camera flash. Just short of raining these were the worst conditions to shoot. Wind was coming off the Gulf which made it difficult to get any kind of water in the background because her hair would just wrap around her. I tried in vain to use an umbrella for soft light but gave up after I almost Mary Poppined over the beach while holding the light stand in one hand and shooting with the other. Her son doesn't like to get his picture taken so it was also a good experience dealing with kids and keeping their attention.

I can see that, I was more concerned with lighting and technique that I just glossed over it.
Thanks!
Thanks, when she gets in her zone she almost looks like a different person when photographed than in person.
Thank you!
Anyhow I liked only #1.
