Cambria, California - Morning and Evening

Despite the terrible drought here in California, there is a brief window in the spring when the hills of coastal, Central California turn this almost electric color of green. We passed through briefly in April.
I find it exceptionally appealing, as my part of Cal is brown and more brown year-round.

I drive by similar hills and drool/plan shots in my head that never materialize so kudos for pulling over and executing!!!clap.gif
This might just push me to try....now they have all turned to gold and just before sun dips below the hills, the color and shadows are out of this world!

Love the first one! Has a painting type feel to it! Joyous! bowdown.gif
#3 has very appealing composition....the positioning of the fence!
#5 has glorious light and love the shadows in mini-ravines....do wish one of the two bushes in bottom wasn't there....pond or lone flower or something else more dramatic there would have killed!

Thanks for comments and suggestions Taz - always appreciated!
Yes, I would think that there are, with the right-light, multi-season opportunities to capture the beauty of the hill country of Central California... go get 'em so's we can see 'em!!

Thanks, joe-bob... I'm think I'm with you - evening light seemed a bit nicer this time.

Nice captures of a lovely area reminiscent of parts of the UK with the rolling hills. Is the similar name (Cambria/Cumria) a coincidence or intentional? A top down 10/4 or 2/1 crop may work nicely on the first one.

Thanks much for the comments and suggestion Charlie!
I'm not much familiar with the history of that area of Cal... but it's possible that's it's intentional, we yanks did borrow more than a few place-names from you British.

I really like the work on your website... especially the monochromes.. and I did see one of your landscapes that looks very much like these - even the fence seemed to be just about the same.
