Macro Solutions

I am interested in shooting some macro shots but don't have the cash for a new lens. I am trying to decide which system would be better; Extension tubes or close-up filters.I am using a Canon 300D with the kit lens ( I know...buy a new lens!) and a Canon EF 75-300 4-5.6 USM. Any thoughts?

ETs. Period.
With closeups you lose corner sharpness and add more CA.
Both lose some light.

I've got Kenko ETs DG set and its great. In theory, no glass is better. But check if ETs support EF-S lens.
