Galleries not showing?

Hi!

Longtime user (well, since 2006!) and haven't touched my site design in about as many years. :) Just hit the "publish" button after about a week of hemming and hawing over the new design. And of course - as luck would have it - my galleries aren't showing.

They are public, they are not password protected, they are very simple under the main site > Galleries. The thumbnails for what they are show, but when you click on each gallery, there are no photos inside. (This is of course looking at it logged out as a visitor. They show when I'm logged in.)

The "Galleries" folder is public and brand new - not from the legacy site - and each of the galleries are public as well - there are no "locks" on the icons. I even moved the folder up to the top of the list structure as that seemed to help someone else when I did a search here.

Site is www.saltygrapes.com / saltygrapes.smugmug.com

Galleries link: http://www.saltygrapes.com/Galleries
Sample gallery not showing contents: http://www.saltygrapes.com/Galleries/SaltyPooches/

I'm clearly missing something obvious. What am I overlooking?! :scratch

Thanks!!!

Julia

    When you go to "Organizer" what do you see in the tree on the left?

    If Galleries is a new folder you probably have to add a gallery content block to it.

    In customize
    Make sure "all folders" is highlighted on upper right on flyout and drag a folder and gallery content
    block on to the page. This will assure that all folder pages will show whatever it has. Set the
    blocks to "current location".

    All the categories from legacy should still be there, try one.

    Allen - you have been a lifesaver for me for years! :)

    So, I've read and re-read what you wrote and tried to get this to work. I feel like an old dog trying to learn this new fangled system and its hierarchy.

    But now I think I broke it. I'm getting "Uh oh! Something went wrong while loading this page. Please reload the page and try again while we fire up the Bat signal and start hunting down the bugs." with the error code {
    "stat": "fail",
    "method": "rpc.organizer.getnodesbypath",
    "code": 1,
    "message": "invalid login"
    }

    Coincidence that I appear to have broken it? Ha.

    Hmmmm. That must have been a passing bug. It's fine now.

    I swear I'm thick-headed right now. I've tried all of that and it's still not loading. I'll keep playing around with it.

    Under Organizer, my tree shows:

    [person icon] saltygrapes
    [folder icon] Galleries
    [gallery icon] Salty Pooches
    [gallery icon] Portfolio Favorites
    [gallery icon] Travel
    [gallery icon] Art
    [gallery icon] Weddings
    [folder icon] Files
    [gallery icon] Site Stuff
    [page icon] Contact Me
    [page icon] Guestbook
    etc...
    [folder icon with lock] Original Salty Site (where I put everything I didn't want to use anymore)

    :) Thanks!!!

    OK, fiddled enough with it and your suggestions, and it's all set. Thanks Allen! thumb.gif

    Are you aware that you have a broken image on your homepage and your contact page? Check that the images shown in those locations are available for access when you are not logged in.

    Any images you use outside of its gallery make sure embeddable/external links are on for the gallery.

    It was working before I fiddled with the galleries, when the galleries weren't working. Now they're working and it's not. Ugh! :) Thanks for the heads up.

    Your galleries are great!
    Hi, Julia, I just logged on to your site. I had no trouble getting into your galleries. They look great! DeborahL
