Clickable background image

I love the way smugmug now let's me provide a different randomly chosen image from one of my galleries to display as a background each time someone visits my site.

That said, I think users may find it frustrating to see a brief glimpse on an image that they like come up as a background...but then have it immediately overwritten with the various foreground elements of my site. I wish I could set it up so that clicking on the background would jump to a lightbox view of the background image. Or failing that, at least I'd like it if Firefox's option to "view background image" was available (which it isn't). The latter function would normally be invoked by right-clicking on the background image.

Does anyone know how make it easy for users to jump to a nice view of just the background image?

Add a little single photo box with the background image in the bottom corner on your
homepage and say click to see background photo. Maybe add text to describe photo.

    Allen,

Thanks for this speedy response - but I think that would only work if I have a constant static image as the background?

Instead, I have setup a smart gallery called "backgrounds" that contains images to which I have assigned the keyword "backgrounds"; it is a gallery of shots that I have decided typically look okay as a background. I then let smugmug randomly choose an image from that gallery as a background for my home page, for folders or for galleries. So I don't know how I could add a photo box that would know which image was being used as the background during any given page load? I was hoping that there might be a way using some tricky CSS to make the dynamically chosen background image clicakable so it would open in the lightbox, or at least to tell the browser that it is a background image that could be opened in a separate browser window.

It seems likely that people viewing my site might at some point see a background image that they'd like to open for stand-alone viewing.
