Mixing public and private photos?

If I have a mix of photos where some are intended to be open to the public and others I want password protected for whatever reason, what's the best way to go about this? Do I need to separate by folder? Just by Gallery? If I password protect a gallery, does anyone else know its there? Can it be hidden so only public pictures show up? Thanks for any suggestions.

Either password-protected folders or galleries work fine for this purpose. If you password protect a folder, entering a password there will unlock all the galleries which are inside.

Password-protected galleries still appear in listings of galleries in your navigation like a regular gallery would. You'd need to mark it as "unlisted" for it to be hidden.
