Journal not opening at top of page

I recently posted a photo series of a journey in the Dominican Republic.
The am displaying the gallery in journal mode with text box above it. The text contains an introduction to the gallery.

The issue I am having is when they page opens it jumps to the first image instead of opening to the top of the page where the introduction is. I am looking to fix this so when people visit the page they see the into first and have a better idea of what the gallery is about.

Is there some code that can fix this. Or is there a setting somewhere I am missing?

It's a bug, see bug report at journal style galleries should open at the top.

Please add comments to that thread. Maybe if some additional folks comment we can generate some attention towards getting this fixed.

I'm not aware of any workaround for the problem.
