Trooper, if you search Google Images, the Sonic game was castles and woods. I think this was pretty close.
Jon, I'd be curious to know how you would have lit this set. As I said, the backgrounds are correct.

Besides that a great series
D3 you are probably correct on the ring. Cindy created a ring out of wood (shown below) but I felt it was too static and lifeless to reflect the images I saw in researching the game. What I did was the best I could think of but there may be better ideas out there.
