Fuji X100s Senior Portrait at the Beach

My mini-review of the x100s after one session: I really like it. I was using the flash in commander mode and my Mitros+ in optic slave mode and it was able to trigger on a bright beach. It was sunset so might be different midday but I wouldn't be shooting portraits then anyway. I like how you get a preview of the exposure when shutter is pressed halfway. I like the skintones. The built in ND allows for shooting f2 in bright light and still be able to underexpose the background, and it makes portable flash more powerful. I got the fuji for a second camera at the beach for the environmental shots. I take the beach for granted but clients do not. Instead of taking two DSLR's to the beach, or having to change out lenses at the beach which I do not want to do, I now have a D3s that does the heavy lifting and the fuji that will get the candid and environmental shots while reducing my gear load.

These are seriously nice images Jon. Really good exposure control with the speedlights. I need to learn this better.

Serious question in # 5. Are those "hotspots" on her forehead and cheeks? That's not critique, I'm learning to identify stuff.

On 5 the shot was over exposed so I had to bring it down some resulting in hot spots. I could probably play with toning the spots down more. What grabbed my attention was her eyes so i kept the shot as flawed as it is.

ahh the beach ! My only nit is in 5 there is a tooth showing even though her lips are closed and in 7 the pose makes her legs look very odd, very short, half the length of her arms. Looks like she had fun.

Great work as usual. Minor nit is that her chin/face wants to point down a tad more.
