How to display the gallery description in the gallery list?

Hey helpers 
So I've got a list of galleries, usually arranged by year.
The list looks like this (inside one year)
20120821-26-misc
20120814-19-misc
20120806-12-misc
These are the gallery TITLES displayed above.
I'd love to way to display (like in the old smugmug) the gallery DESCRIPTIONS too so that the list becomes
20120821-26-misc : Steve's wedding
20120814-19-misc : Beach trip
20120806-12-misc : Day trip to the pike market and ferry to bainb.....
The longer descriptions could be truncated like #3 above.

The descriptions cannot be shown in the same way that you did in Old SmugMug. The only way you could make this work is by using a text content block. There you could add a description and have it display under the galleries.
Your best bet would be to post a feature request. I know which feature you're talking about from Old SmugMug, and can understand why you'd want it back. Please use the feature request section of Dgrin, or your can post in our feedback forum: http://feedback.smugmug.com/
