Arctic Tern fishing over a lake in the Kenai region of Alaska. These birds are difficult to capture as they move so swiftly. Rapidly flying over the lake, they can dive into the water with such speed and grace. Wish I could have spent more time with them.... 1/750 f8 iso800 100-400 f4 @ 370mm, handheld.

That's a great capture Len. What are the chances of getting that great reflection in the spot with very little vegetation in the water.

Thanks Hunter. I have to say that is mostly luck that I got this image at all! These terns are so very swift. There were not as many birds on this lake as I was hoping for, but they are so interesting to watch and they are so sleek in color and flight. I'm new with this lens too, and I don't see how one would capture them - in flight - with a tripod or a monopod.
