    Really nice scene.

Try for a bit more contrast in landscape BWs. I increased the contrast here with curves adjustment, and masked off the adjustment to the sky.

Take 2 - a bit darker on the sky (new later, "multiply" blend mode, and then masked off the foreground).

excellent enhancements Andy, thanks. I have to learn more about masking and layers. My adjustments of course affected the entire image and therefore hard to control.

    I was going to suggest
the same thing -- but Andy beat me to the punch -- and provided that excellent tutorial.

I remember when we hired a temp at our graphic design studio and he used masking. I was not too eager to learn what looked really mysterious at the time (back in the old photoshop days). He insisted I'd love it. I of course dug my heels in and got stubborn.

Finally something came up and he showed me how to use masks. Well, he was right, and I finally thanked him! Now it's so easy to use layers and masks in the newer versions of photoshop, but I bet it's still daunting. I was very fortunate I had someone to stand over me and explain in person, and I could ask questions and get an immediate answer.
