SM adding quotation marks to EXIF data

This is something I just noticed after downloading my own images from SM, and it's quite annoying. Several of the string EXIF fields, including tags, camera, title, software, authors, copyright, basically every value that is a string, are having quotation marks put around them when downloaded back from SM.

For instance, this is what the program name EXIF field is, when downloaded from SM: "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.5 (Windows)" When uploaded, it was as normal without the quotations. I sometimes download my downsized photos from SM, and upload them to Wordpress, or somewhere else. WP reads the EXIF and fills in the titles, captions, etc... now those titles and captions have quotes around them, and it's unusable because of that.

This is clearly a bug, or a missed keystroke, please fix :)

While we're at it... why does SM change the Title EXIF field when you download the image? It sticks whatever you set as the caption/subject as both that and the Title. That shouldn't happen. I'm not sure why SM is touching our EXIF info in any way, actually?

I just tested this... it's still not fixed. Really? This should be a very simple fix, and it's destroying my workflow. Not that I expect a reply...

Smugmug has always stated they do nothing to your original uploaded files. I guess that's not quite true any more.

Actually, as far as I can tell the originals are OK. All of the display copies have their EXIF totally mangled. Every string field is corrupted with quotation marks (an obvious code typo that's probably seconds to fix), and some fields are completely replaced.

Yes, I know. The trouble is, that was the email reply I got months ago, and this should be a quick fix. Nevertheless, thanks for replying.

No one has any confidence that you're "looking into the issue" when it's months old like this & is a rather ridiculous issue that, like the OP says, probably could be fixed very quickly. While you're at it, I wish you'd also look into a related thing that happens to filenames of our own images that we download from SmugMug, because this too is a real pain: Any capital letters get changed to lowercase. So my filenames, which often have words in them, with caps to separate them, look like gobbledygook when downloaded. I don't see why these filenames get changed at all. SmugMug is the only site I'm part of that gives me this problem. It's been a problem ever since I arrived here years ago.
