Into the face of an ant

What do you think about this slightly unconventional crop. I was not convinced by the usual highly symmetrical version (and actually now I look at it, I think I missed the focus a bit). The second is a classical side on view.

Both Good only slight critique on #1 is it seems a bit low in the frame to me and the leaf damage and central leaf vein both attract the eye a bit.

I have reworked the face on view to a more conventional aspect. I don't like it so much ... but I guess it is horses for courses
