Excellent architectural abstract. I prefer the center image which omits the sky....adds more mystery as to just what the subject matter actually is. Well done, Eric.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.
Second pic for me. It is the most abstract of the bunch (no sky) and works simply with shapes, angles and shadows. Also, there aren't any "seams" in that one.

Thank-you Tom - appreciate you and the other folks expressing a compositional connection - great feedback!!
I like the set and the shadows contribute to the geometrical pattern. Did you try BW?
Thanks Cristóbal... harsh lighting helps an image for once.
I did process a couple of the compositions in B&W, and I did not end-up liking the tones
and their effect on the geometry as much as this mustard... which is weird, because I normally don't care for such colors...
However, I did have one composition that I finished in B&W that I kinda' like - you might too... it's almost "fuzzy"...

I was waffling about whether to remove the seams... and so, your comment convinced me it was a good idea - thanks for the push David.
I replaced the images with the "seamless" edits.
Nice series, all shots are very nice. I also prefer #2 as my favorite.
Keep the good work coming
Thanks much for the comments Randy...
The appreciation of the "artistic" aspect of photography is usually very subjective,
so, it's nice to know that these images appeal, in some way, to the eye of other photogs.
Nice work, Eric. #2 gets my vote also. No sky means I can do whatever I want to with this one--turn it upside down, inside out, etc. I often like BW conversions for shots like these with shapes and shadows and lines, but in this case I agree with you about the mustard yellow. It is an appealing shade, not too harsh. I don't care for the BW version you posted, mainly because it seems overexposed to me; the softness is a nice approach to an otherwise sharp subject but it just doesn't work for me.

Thanks Lauren, for the like and the detailed comments - great feedback!
The building (Oceanside Civic Center) is - in reality - very white... I definitely wanted to change the color to make the tones more subtle.
I know what you mean about the B&W, it really glares out of a Monitor - I guess that's what gave Stumblebum a headache... I think I owe him a couple of Tylenol.

Hey, thanks much Joel, glad you liked 'em - fun is always in order!!
Thanks very much rags!
I felt each had a different, but equally appealing geometry, so I presented them as a triplet.
The building is a portion of the Oceanside, CA City Hall...
I thought it offered a pretty good opportunity to try some Minimalism.

I know, huh??
I usually advise people to close their eyes when looking at my pictures...
I also like #2 - pure cubist abstraction!
