I'm liking the depth of this shot. Perfect subject for B&W, since color can't say more than monochrome can here. Lighting and sky are near perfect. Good to see the side of the pier not blown out. Too easy to do, but you controlled it.

It would be nice to see some action in this shot. Do trains still run on this electric line? A sharp photo with a blurry moving train moving through that bridge towards the viewer would set the scene up nicely. Also, that phone/electric pole on the far right might be best to lose.

Yes. The trains run. High speed at that.......but.......they didn't move a muscle the morning I was there. I had limited time and couldn't wait around. I'll be going back........but........will the sky cooperate? I can only hope.

Thanks for the advice. It will be heeded.

Wow, that is a great photo. The contrast, the sky, the bridge standing out against the dark background... I love it.

2 points of comment (since you're asking):
I can see you have used a wide angle lense, the vertical lines at the sides are not vertical. And your horizon doesn't seem straight horizontal (looks rotated a bit counter clockwise I mean). That can all be solved very easily with Photoshop's free transformation tool though.

But like I said, a great shot :D

Hi Tom......... this shots looks great done in B&W, I sometimes prefer them to colour.

You have a great sky in this shot with swirly clouds, and the metal bridge is so crisp and sharp..... I like this shot very much, where was this taken if I may ask.

Great job on your part Tom thumb.gif Skippy (Australia)
