SEO and ALT tags

I have a couple of questions and I've searched the forum and very surprised not to see this anywhere.
I need alt tags on my images. I do everything in lightroom, import to my site etc. I've renamed them, tried captions and everything but every time I check with an SEO checker it says I don't have 2 things, any alt tags or h1 or h2 tags. SEO is obviously important and I'm trying to do everything possible to stay high on Google so any help in this are is appreciated. Thank you!

Looks like you're using the Right-click (non) protection feature, so your alt tags are not displaying because the image Google sees is a transparent image. The reason you have no

, etc tags is because you have no text.

Disable the RC and add text , etc and you will be fine. Look at my SM site and read my SEO link in my sig.

ok, so I should disable the right click protection for my entire site? Its there for a purpose so how do you get around that? and also I'm confused on how to add h1 and h2. So much of this seems to be smugmug specific but I'm not sure, but I am confused.

Right click protection is poorly named - it doesn't protect your images. It takes just a few clicks to save an image from the browser cache even with RCP enabled.

Delete ALL of you photos online, and quit posting new pictures.

That is the only way to insure people will not steal your stuff.

As far as SEO, alt tags are a very, very, very small portion. The best advice for SEO is use a good title tag. Unfortunately Smugmug doesn't allow custom tags on EACH page/gallery etc. Google like text. That means

, and paragraphs.

We do include the gallery title in the title and meta tag. You can see that going to your Landscape and Nature gallery, there's a title tag set to "Landscape and Nature - Prints for Sale". The gallery title is also part of the meta tags.

I know that, but I don't want the same <title> tag and Gallery title. I can do that in my WordPress site, but not here. <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/ne_nau.gif&quot; border="0" alt="" >
