Audra sent me a list of ideas she liked and most were natural light so I put away the lights. She does runway model shows as part of her job description for a publishing/event company but hasn't had a photoshoot. You will probably notice some scarring on her skin and that is from radiation treatments for cancer a few years ago. I left the scars because it tells her story as she is now. These were her favorites.

Love everything except # 4 where I don't care for the blown sky.

The light and warmth in the rest are AWESOME.

I think 5 is most compelling.

    6. I would like, but there is too much gold/yellow in the skin for me. Almost looks jaundiced.

Thanks, and I see what you mean. Will try to correct.

Hi John as always a nice set…..while I am having the worst summer in years …..cold and rain

Any how here are my observations:

Pic 1: Hmm not so keen on the extra light and the highlights, a large defuse screen above the model would make the light far more soft and the sunglasses could go off without pinching the eyes. Eyes are the window of the soul and unless it is a sunglasses shoot I would avoid taking that kind of pictures . Bt then again that is my very limited view on photography

Pic 2: Light is much better, however the overall saturation is a bit high (on my screen). The picture does not tell me much as I am missing the personality of the lady (sunglasses)

Pic 3: Very nice, it has a mood to it and would work great on a love card or wish card…. maybe a bit less saturation.

Pic 4: Very good as well and I do like the fact that I can now see the lady…. the moment (movement) is a bit off, did you try this scene while she was actually walking just in the water edge. It would work better as she is lifting the dress

Pic 5: Great shot, lovely light…… David Hamilton feel

Pic 6: OK but the I have the impression that the WB is off. Colors don't look right.. Pink water ?

Pic 7: Love it, but I would get rid of the bag and other stuff on the ground.

Pic 8: Nice, and the colors are OK as it is kind of a sunset…. however I would give it a bot more space on the bottom (reflection) and shift the lady to the viewers left…. so that she is not that central.

    Great work John…..

    Thanks

1 and 2 she wanted sunglasses. 1 is back lit and 2 she is facing the sun. I didn't use extra light on 1 so not sure what you mean by extra light.

7 was a shot of her getting ready for the next set so to me the bags are part of the pic.

6 is one I'm playing around with. This was shot with setting sun light and she had a warm, yellow tint on her skin. Adjusting the WB makes the pic unnatural so I'm going back and forth on how to handle it. Bryce mentioned she looked too yellow, so I changed it a bit.

Good point on 8. I didn't have much room at the bottom so I tinkered around and drew in some more water for one of the versions of the pic.

Not enamored with the processing but that just might be my prejudices. I feel your not presenting her in a feminine way with some of the posing, too angular for my taste. Quite a range of comments here, but as long as you made her happy that is all that matters.

I'm interested more in the processing comment as I didn't do too much processing on most of these.

Speaking about the color and lack of contrast in some. It's not you it's just that my taste is different and that makes this art. If one doesn't know art he at least knows what he likes.

I really like this set - favoties 1/4. It's a little less "posed" than some of your other models, and her ease comes across in the set. I also actually like the super-warm tone in 6 - it's obviously "golden hour". I might cool down the ocean a little so there's less contrast between her and it, but I think it's very evocative.

Thanks, that was what I was going for, more natural. She isn't a model, at least doesn't have aspirations which is one of the reasons I wanted to work with her. I didn't want a traditional model shoot. She wanted to do some "sexy" stuff but it just came across as uncomfortable to her. I kept to her comfort level. She just didn't look natural in the classic model poses.
