How can I make my whole site like the home page?

I don't know if it's possible for someone to help me with this until I publish new smugmug, but I'm having a hard time transitioning. The homepage is close enough to acceptable for me that I want to make the whole site like it, but I can't. Even though I did all my customization in the entire site tab, it doesn't apply to the entire site. This could perhaps be because I did some customization to individual pages before I found the entire site tab?

Also, why does the photo I use for a background photo look awful? Like it heavily compressed it and took all its resolution away, then stretched it to fill.

    Make sure the gallery that the background photo is in is set to a large size.

    If you have an early, experimental gallery that is not showing your entire theme, you may have used the "+Make This Gallery Custom" command in the organizer. If it says, "Just This Gallery" under All Galleries in the Customizer, just hit the Revert icon.
