Love #3! Lucky that such thick cloud cover was hanging above the horizon and but still gave you chance to get the full disk of the sun in first two.

    Nice shots!

I haven't been to the UP (upper peninsula) in a few years.

Absolutely gorgeous in Summer and Fall and if you like snowmobiling then winter too.

Did you go in the water? Super clear water but can be a little cold.

I did not go swimming, but I have SCUBA dived around Munising and Tobermory a fair bit of years ago. We did ski at Big Powderhorn last February and I plan to again this winter. If Superior freezes hard enough I want to get to the ice caves I missed last winter too.

I like the first and last one. The sun looks a bit like it's firing off a giant solar flare lol3.gif Did you shoot the last horizontal? I wonder how that'd look?

The first one is my favorite as well, Ian, but I must admit the second one continues to grow as I live with it for a while.

I do have frames of the third one in landscape mode, but not with the sunstar, unfortunately. The sky was just so insipid, and without color that morning, that I think the landscape orientation versions were worse.

I prefer this sunrise from Ashland a few mornings earlier, we were trying to capture a few meteors before sunrise, but the moon was just way too bright that morning. Sky was nice though.
