Smart Galleries and keyword indexing

I have a workflow in which I upload all photos from an event into a hidden gallery, then create several public Smart galleries based on keywords.

Often, some photos don't show up, and since I know that keyword indexing takes a little time I give it 15 minutes or even an hour. Then I start sweating and go double check my keywords. I start wondering when it's time to email support. I start getting asked by customers when the rest of the photos will be up.

:bash And, I have no idea when the rest of the photos will magically appear! SmugMug really needs some sort of status on the keyword indexing queue! I'm starting to develop superstitions about what will move things along. Does refreshing the Smart Gallery preview help? How about clicking my heals? We could really use some more transparency here...

Just to follow up for my fellow Smug'ers - it was just a matter of time. Too much time, IMO, but that's what it was. Imagine if Twitter took 24 hours for hashtags to show up? Boom goes the Twitter-sphere. SmugMug wizards: Can we get this to happen any faster??

We're super sorry for the delay! There's a lot of stuff indexing at any given time, and sometimes things do get backed up. We are always working to improve SmugMug and get things working more smoothly, and hopefully you'll see improvements as time goes on.
