Ugly PROOF Watermark

I may have already asked this question but if I did I don't remember the answer.

When ever I upload an image to my website it AUTO MAGICALLY puts a big UGLY" PROOF" water mark on the image.

Is there any way to automatically put my watermark on? Every time I upload an image I have to remember to get rid of the nasty "PROOF" and put mine on.

Sam

You can select your watermark in the gallery settings when creating a new gallery (under security)
You can then make those gallery settings as a "quick setting" so that each time you create a gallery you can just select that quick setting.

    Steps:
    1) Go to "Organizer"
    2) Navigate your way to a gallery that has nearly every one of your desired settings - select it so it has the border
    3) Go up to the "Settings" button (with gear wheel)
    4) Now go through each of the categories on the left and make the changes that you want for your new galleries
(specifying the watermark will be under the "Security and Privacy" category)
    5) Once you are satisfied with your settings, go to the "Quick Settings" category (last one - at bottom)
    6) Give it a memorable name "Sam's Default" ... whatever
    7) Click Save

Now when you want to upload to a NEW gallery, on the opening dialogue box there is a drop down menu for "Quick Settings"
Select "Sam's Default" and all of those settings you chose in step 4 above will be applied to this new gallery.
    ... with your desired watermark.

In the past I have created a few "Quick Settings"
    - my default
    - one for private galleries with no watermark
    - one for private galleries with watermark
    - one with a different maximum size (family versus casual viewer)
My opinion does not necessarily make it true. What you do with my opinion is entirely up to you.

I've been caught by this before too. I normally use a saved quick setting as AceCo55 suggests but I have been known to forget to apply the setting, yikes! Unfortunately the default watermark is smug's ugly proof.

Since there are at least two of us who have been caught by this (and I'm sure there are more as well), I've just posted a feature request to Allow site owner to specify watermark to be used as "default".

OK, I am back on the bridge, and this time I brought a bow and arrow!

I can not get the quick settings to stay on an existing gallery!!~!!!

Don't know about a new gallery.

Does this mean the quick settings will only work on new galleries?

Quick settings only work on new galleries.

To change the watermark in an existing gallery you need to go into gallery settings and change the watermark. If there are already photos in the gallery you will need to go into the organizer, select all of the photos in that gallery where you want to change the watermark and explicitly apply the new watermark.

    Thanks Denise,

Now if i git this right when adding new photos to an existing gallery I still need to remember to change the watermark to my watermark or the default "PROOF" will be applied?

What is wrong with the SmugMug folks? Have they been hiring ex government people? Partaking of the new all natural herbal remedies now becoming legal in many states? :D

Quick settings works on any old gallery and a new gallery. Just be sure to click the apply check on the right before saving.

No. When you upload new photos to a gallery the photos should be watermarked with the watermark that is specified for that gallery. So as long as you have the correct watermark specified in the gallery settings you should be all set.
